Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, Dean of the College of Arts, an awareness seminar was held for the college students titled “Social Relationships in the University: Challenges and Development Opportunities.” This event was prompted by recent publications on social media regarding the trend known as “the teacher and the student,” which contained insults towards the teacher’s character, with the participation of Assistant Professor Dr. Walida Abdul Samawi.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness and guide towards building healthy relationships within the educational institution. Among the topics discussed were an introduction to social relationships in general and the key factors that enhance trust, respect, and transparency among interacting parties. Social relationships play a significant role in individuals’ lives, building personal identity, defining roles that align with prevailing values and beliefs, and enhancing social integration, thus contributing to progress towards establishing a healthy society free from foreign social diseases. Students were directed on the necessity of avoiding anything that could offend teachers and educators within the educational institution, in order to maintain the unity of the Iraqi community.
