A workshop was held at the College of Arts, Al-Qadisiyah University, on digital empowerment and the empowerment of marginalized groups: a socio-economic comparison.

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Omran Al-Khalidi, and as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week activities, the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a workshop entitled “Digital Empowerment and the Empowerment of Marginalized Groups: A Socio-Economic Comparison.” The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Salah Kadhim Jaber and Professor Dr. Basma Rahman Awda, and the session was moderated by Professor Dr. Muayyad Fahim Mohsen. The workshop addressed two main themes: the first, digital transformation and socio-economic marginalized groups; and the second, digital transformation and the care of vulnerable groups, specifically women and people with disabilities. The first theme explored the possibility of achieving sustainable development by empowering marginalized groups to engage with digital transformations and digital employment, while the second theme addressed how to help women and people with disabilities leverage digital transformations to improve their social standing and life opportunities.
