Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul-Amir Abdul-Fattlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Anatomy and Histology at the college held a scientific seminar entitled “Types of Fixing Solutions Used for Preserving Samples and Common Errors.” The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Nabil Abdul-Murad, Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Sawadi Zghair, and Assistant Professor Maha Abdul-Hadi Al-Abdullah.
The seminar aimed to introduce passive tissue fixation, highlight the relationship between fixation and tissue sectioning, explain different fixation methods, and demonstrate the positive effects of tissue sectioning. Key recommendations included adhering to the fixation time, selecting the appropriate fixing agent, sectioning samples to an appropriate size, and providing ongoing training for laboratory staff.
