Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul-Amir Abdul-Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the college completed a scientific course entitled “The Role of Carnosic Acid in Alternative Treatments for Hypertension: From Chemical Properties to Clinical Applications.” The course was presented by Assistant Lecturers Widad Rahman Abdul and Rosa Mohammed Hassan.
The course aimed to clarify the chemical and physical properties of carnosic acid and its natural sources, in addition to explaining the biochemical and molecular mechanisms of carnosic acid in lowering blood pressure. The course recommended its use as a supportive dietary supplement within a comprehensive treatment plan, monitoring potential drug interactions with antihypertensive medications, and educating patients about the importance of adhering to medical treatment and a healthy lifestyle alongside alternative treatments.
