Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fattah Al-Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Diseases and Poultry Diseases held a scientific training course on hemagglutination testing in birds. Presenters included Assistant Professor Dr. Dia Jaber Hamza, Batool Kazem Muteb, Engineer Muhammad Mahdi Yasin, and Assistant Professor Abbas Hadi Jassim.
The aim of the scientific course was to familiarize participants with the test, as hemagglutination testing is a serological test used to diagnose viruses, given that some viruses have the ability to agglutinate red blood cells in birds. The course covered the preparation of red blood cell suspensions and the calibration of the hemagglutinin.
The course recommended the necessity of adopting hemagglutination and hemagglutination inhibition tests by veterinarians to diagnose viral infections and to determine the vaccination schedule for each batch based on the results obtained from these tests.
