In compliance with the directives of the Prime Minister’s office and the Ministry of Higher Education, and under the patronage and presence of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Aqeel Rahim Al-Barqawi, the College of Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a joyful event to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the Great Victory Day, recalling the epic of the great Iraqi victory over the terrorist Daesh gangs.
The celebration, attended by the university president, the head of the Iraqi Academics Union in Diwaniyah, Professor Sajat Majid Al-Mousawi, the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Diwaniyah, Mr. Ismail Al-Awadi, the advisor to the Diwaniyah governor and his representative, Mr. Muhammad Mazal Al-Khazai, along with a selection of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, began with the national anthem and a recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq’s martyrs and the immortal victory epic, as well as for the martyrs of Lebanon and Gaza and the leader of the south.
Opening speeches were delivered by the university president, the college dean, the head of the Iraqi Academics Union, and the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Diwaniyah. The speeches emphasized that the Great Victory Day is the day when the will of the Iraqi people united across all its segments, and where the forces of truth triumphed over the forces of darkness and terrorism, thanks to the sacrifices of our army, our mobilization, and our security forces of all kinds, who offered pure souls and martyrs who etched the most magnificent epics of steadfastness and challenge with their pure blood.
During the ceremony, the President of the University was honored for his noble efforts in the reconstruction and development process and for representing our university at the conference for its nomination for the Best University Leadership and Management Award by the British Times Ranking. Additionally, the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate in Diwaniya was honored, along with the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces as a representative of the national popular forces participating in the Great Victory Day. The ceremony concluded with Mr. Ismail Al-Awadi handing over the initiative of Al-Qadisiyah University, which is a voluntary effort to collect financial contributions from the colleges through the Iraqi Academics Syndicate to support the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
