The College of Nursing at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a specialized scientific course that addressed the phenomenon of suicide by medication among children and youth. The course was attended by Dr. Sajida Khamis Abdullah. The course aimed to raise awareness by providing participants with the necessary information about the causes and risk factors of suicide by medication and training cadres on how to identify cases that show signs of depression and suicidal thoughts, and how to provide psychological support to them. This course came in light of a noticeable increase in the rates of this phenomenon, which requires concerted efforts to confront it. It also addressed the latest statistics on suicide by medication in Iraq and the world, and methods of prevention and treatment.
