The Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Physical Education and Sports Science, held an awareness seminar titled “How to Treat Addiction and Rehabilitation,” presented by Dr. Ruwa Abbas Asyoud and Assistant Lecturer Zaman Abdul Salam Mohammed.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of addiction, how to treat it, enhance confidence in the possibility of recovery, and support community efforts to provide a safe environment for recovering individuals. The seminar addressed several topics, including the definition of addiction, substances that cause addiction, steps for treating addiction, rehabilitating the addict, and reintegrating them into society.
Recommendations from the seminar: Organize periodic awareness campaigns about the dangers of addiction and the importance of treatment, and involve the media in spreading positive messages that encourage recovery.
