The Department of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific symposium entitled (Sustainability Applications in Chemical Engineering) in the Continuing Education Unit Hall, in which Prof. Dr. Saleh Abdul Jabbar Saleh and Assistant Dr. Haider Alaa Maabad lectured. The symposium aimed to review scientific research on alternatives to materials that cause global warming to design efficient systems to get rid of gases harmful to the climate, especially carbon dioxide. The symposium included discussing two important topics, the first of which is the use of sustainability to address the issue of climate and the effects of gases emitted on it, as well as the impact of fossil fuels and the changes they cause in the Earth’s climate as a result of harmful gas emissions resulting from the combustion of engines that operate on fossil fuels. The second topic is the design of chemical processes that work to find chemical alternatives that can be used in production and are environmentally friendly
