The College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a scientific workshop on searching for legal journals in the Scopus container

The Department of Postgraduate Studies, in cooperation with the Private Section at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University, and within the program of training the skills of postgraduate students in the research phase, held a scientific workshop entitled (Searching for legal journals in the Scopus container). Prof. Dr. Nizam Jabbar Talib and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sinan Abdul Hamza lectured in it, and the workshop was managed by Prof. Dr. Ali Hamza Jabr
The workshop aimed to introduce the most important steps and procedures adopted in publishing legal research in general and extracted from university theses and dissertations in particular in the field of law in its various branches in global publishing containers such as Scopus and others. The workshop also shed light on the most important correct foundations in publishing research in reputable international journals, and to clarify and analyze the most common problems facing researchers in the publishing process and how to address and overcome them, in addition to introducing graduate students to how to distinguish between reputable, commercial and predatory fake journals and avoid dealing with them, because dealing with them leads to the research not being approved in academic institutions. The workshop also introduced researchers to Scopus or Thomson Routers, which are companies specialized in approving scientific journals, conferences and books, following up on them and issuing the impact factor for each journal. The impact factor is a number given to a scientific journal to evaluate the journal based on the number of research published in the journal and on the use of journal research as sources for research published in journals with an impact factor.
