On the occasion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Educational Guidance and Psychological Services Unit held an educational awareness seminar entitled (Protecting Society from the Scourge of Drugs is a Joint Responsibility), in which researcher and legal expert Aqil Abdul Abbas Al-Shammari, Assistant Professor Dr. Sahar Abdul-Ilah Al-Birmani, and Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Ghali Muhammad
The seminar aimed to explain the concept of drug addiction, its types and causes, the psychological, social and economic effects of drug addiction, methods of prevention and treatment, and to identify the methods and tools of drug abuse and ways to stay away from it and report drug cases via the hotline 178
The most important recommendations are to educate students about the most important risks resulting from drug abuse on studied scientific foundations and to develop religious awareness and adherence to religious teachings and avoid its prohibitions in the statement of the fatwa of the religious authority, Mr. Sistani, who forbids encouraging drug abuse in order for the father and mother to take all means to keep the danger of drugs away from their children and to explain Article 40 of the Drug Law No. 50 of 2017
