Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and supervised by Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, Dean of the College of Arts, and in the presence of Dr. Atheer Abdul Amir Al-Mashhadi, Assistant to the President of the University for Administrative Affairs, along with the ministerial committee assigned to follow up on the activities of universities for the Iraqi Week for Combating Drugs, the College of Arts organized a scientific seminar titled “The Social Dimensions of the Harms of Drugs and the Stages of Addiction.” The seminar featured presentations by Professor Dr. Talib Abdul Redha and Colonel Khalid Hafat Matar, with the session managed by Assistant Professor Dr. Muayad Fahim Mohsen.
The seminar aimed to provide a preventive culture for students, warning them of the dangers of drugs, and emphasizing the importance of choosing good company. Drugs scatter minds and turn individuals into beasts who do not respect the forbidden and are no longer part of humanity. Families with a drug-using child find themselves in a state of ongoing social isolation and shame.
