The College of Biotechnology held a workshop entitled “Introducing Blood Group Systems”

The workshop aims to introduce blood group systems, including the ABO and Rh systems, their medical importance, and how to determine them.
The workshop included blood group systems, the ABO blood group system and the red blood cell antigens approved in this system and the blood types that belong to it and the medical importance, the Rh system and the antigens approved in its determination and the medical importance, the method of agglutination on the slide approved in determining the different blood types belonging to the ABO and Rh systems.
The workshop recommended the necessity of conducting a laboratory test to determine the blood type of each person, due to its importance in cases of urgent need to donate blood or receive blood, including emergency cases, operations, abortions and pregnancy.
