The Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Continuing Education Unit in the college, held an advisory lecture for students titled “The Scourge of Drugs and Its Impact on Human Behavior,” presented by the lawyer Aqeel Abdul Abbas Al-Shammari.
The lecture aimed to raise awareness among our students about the dangers of drug abuse and to clarify the risks it poses to individual and community health, as well as the profound impact it leaves on the value and moral system, leading to the waste of human resources and dragging those who abuse drugs into the abyss of degradation and crime, along with the economic waste resulting from drug use and trafficking of this deadly poison.
The lecture also included an explanation of the negative effects resulting from drug abuse, as well as an overview of the types of narcotic substances and their destructive dangers to the human body, especially the damage they cause to the nervous system cells and other body cells. It also provided some educational and awareness solutions aimed at keeping our children away from drug use, focusing on the role of the family and parents in educating their children and monitoring them to prevent them from engaging in activities that would encourage drug abuse.
