Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al-Iraqi, the College of Science conducted a training course titled (Intestinal Bacteria and Their Impact on Human Health), presented by Dr. Abeer Hammoudi Jabbar.
The course aimed to define bacteria and its various harmful and beneficial types that live in the intestines, emphasizing how their presence and balance affect human health, and how an imbalance can lead to problems or diseases.
The course also highlighted that beneficial bacteria in the intestines assist in the digestion of fats and fibers, prevent nitrates from turning into toxins, and maintain a balanced level of acidity in the digestive tract for proper digestion and detoxification of the liver.
The course recommended that it is important not to overuse antibiotics, which may affect the beneficial bacteria in the intestines, and to only take antibiotics based on a doctor’s prescription and guidance.
