Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Al-Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Diseases and Poultry Diseases at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a workshop on the most important bacterial diseases in rock pigeons, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Dia Jaber Hamza Al-Zubaidi.
The workshop aimed to introduce the most important diseases caused by bacteria in rock pigeons, which are very common in Iraq. It included a scientific and field explanation of all the bacterial diseases that pigeon breeders, especially home pigeon keepers in Iraq, suffer from.
The workshop highlighted the pathological causes, clinical signs, diagnostic methods, and treatment and prevention of these diseases. In conclusion, it recommended paying great attention to cleanliness, vaccinations, and providing all biosecurity measures for pigeon breeders to prevent these diseases.
