The Educational Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, held a guidance seminar for students entitled (The Phenomenon of Drug Abuse and Its Negative Effects on Youth). The seminar was held in Al-Maqrizi Hall, and was attended by Professor Dr. Hussam Muhammad Manshed and Professor Dr. Laith Hamza. The seminar aimed to educate our students about the dangers of the drug scourge and to clarify the dangers it poses to the health of the individual and society and the profound impact it leaves on the value and moral system and the subsequent waste of human resources and dragging those who abuse it into the abyss of decadence and crime, as well as the waste of economic resources that result from abuse and trafficking in this deadly poison. The seminar also included an explanation of the negative effects resulting from drug abuse. It also provided an explanation of the types of narcotic substances and their destructive danger to the human body, especially the damage they cause to the cells of the nervous system and the rest of the body’s cells. It also included some educational and awareness solutions that would keep our children away from drug abuse and focused on the role of The family and parents should educate and monitor their children so that they do not engage in anything that would encourage them to take drugs.
