The College of Law organized, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate, an educational workshop on the importance of civil defense, presented by Colonel Hussein Fahim Rahou.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of enhancing the preventive aspect among the staff of Al-Qadisiyah University and to protect lives, property, and public safety through the availability of fire extinguishing tools in nearby workplaces and training staff on how to use them. Additionally, it focused on understanding how to deal with different types of fires, whether solid fires like wood, liquid fires like oils, or gaseous fires like chemicals, and the appropriate extinguishing methods for each. It also emphasized the importance of regular maintenance of fire extinguishers and alarm devices by civil defense teams or relevant authorities.
The workshop recommended the necessity of awareness and education on public safety and civil defense planning, as well as the importance of prevention, which is crucial to prevent accidents or disasters (before they occur) rather than (after they occur) to achieve security and public safety, and the importance of having appropriate extinguishers and early warning devices of various types to deal with all emergency situations.
