The Accounting Department at the College of Administration and Economics at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific seminar titled “Combating Extremist and Foreign Ideas in Iraqi Society,” presented by Colonel Legal Officer Haidar Rahman Kazem, and chaired by Professor Dr. Diaa Zamel Khudair.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the concept of extremist ideas and religious intolerance as an exaggeration of one’s belief in the correctness of their sect, viewing themselves as right and others as wrong, leading to hostility and conflict. It calls for the misguidance of those who oppose their sect and seeks to divide the unity of Muslims. Extremist ideas are considered a global disease that stirs chaos and unrest in various parts of the world; thus, efforts must be made to limit, reduce, or even prevent religious intolerance. There are some solutions to confront religious intolerance that should be adopted.
