Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al-Iraqi, the Psychological and Social Guidance Unit organized a seminar titled “The Social Stigma of Addicts and Society’s Perception of Them,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Nawal Khantail and Mr. Ahmed Dawazah Kazem.
The seminar aimed to shed light on drug addicts who are marginalized by members of society, as they directly suffer from social isolation. The seminar also recommended the need to curb the widespread phenomenon of drug use among the youth in our community and to raise awareness of its dangers and the health, psychological, social, and economic harms it causes, in addition to increasing community awareness and developing comprehensive rehabilitation programs.
