Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry organized a training course titled “Isolation of the fungus Candida albicans from the mouths of children under one year of age,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Raqia Hussein Abdul Mohammed, Assistant Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Manar Hamid Mandeel.
The course aimed to explain the methods of isolation and diagnosis of Candida albicans yeast from children under one year of age, as well as to identify its causative factors and symptoms. The course recommended not to give children any type of medication without consulting a doctor and obtaining the appropriate prescription, which usually includes nystatin in the form of oral drops or a gel applied to the tongue.
