The College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a cultural seminar in collaboration with the Intellectual and Cultural Activities Division at the Al-Husseiniya Holy Shrine, titled (The Current Water Crisis: A Look at Immediate and Strategic Solutions) in the Graduate Studies Discussion Hall, attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Al-Khalidi, faculty members, and students of the college. The seminar featured presentations by Professor Aqeel Al-Sharifi and Professor Ali Ahmed Al-Hashimi.
The seminar aimed to shed light on water management in Iraq under conditions of scarcity and floods, addressing the study of water resource efficiency and determining the extent of their investments for various activities.
The seminar included a review of the crisis and challenges of water scarcity affecting Iraq, as well as the possibility of implementing practical solutions through peaceful planning and management to address this crisis, while maintaining awareness and education through conducting studies and practical research. It also introduced ways to benefit from other water sources such as floodwater, rainwater, groundwater, and the potential for rationalizing water consumption for irrigation, industry, drinking, and other purposes, as well as finding alternatives to alleviate this crisis.
