The Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the college and in cooperation with the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, Diwaniyah Branch, held an awareness lecture entitled (Managing Psychological Stress) in which Ms. Fatima Al-Zahraa Alaa and Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Hilal gave lectures. The lecture aimed to identify the phenomenon of psychological stress felt by some students. It went on to say that anxiety and fear are emotional feelings that are felt when there is a danger or something unknown. Tension and psychological stress have become a cause of psychological pressure on students. There is a difference between normal anxiety, which can be useful and motivating at times, and pathological anxiety, which is a psychological disorder that affects the student’s behavior. The lecture presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which is that the educational institution and the students’ families should provide an appropriate atmosphere for our students, away from tension and excitement that would place a psychological burden on the student, and provide an atmosphere of comfort and calm for our children.
