Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Nizam Jabar Talib, the College of Law held a scientific workshop titled “The Importance of Scientific Publishing in High-Quality Academic Journals and Quality for Researchers in the Field of Law.” The workshop featured presentations by Professor Dr. Nizam Jabar Talib and Professor Dr. Qusay Habib Al-Ghalibi.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of scientific publishing in high-quality academic journals to enhance the status of researchers in the field of law, as well as to inform researchers about the criteria adopted by globally classified academic journals, the mechanisms for publishing in them, and to motivate researchers to improve the quality of their legal research to meet international publishing requirements.
The workshop concluded that publishing in high-ranking academic journals significantly contributes to raising the ranking of universities and improving the reputation of researchers. It also noted a lack of familiarity with the publishing requirements of global journals among researchers in the legal field. Additionally, the quality of scientific research primarily depends on the originality of the topic, the significance of the results, and the appropriateness of the methodology used.
The workshop recommended the necessity of conducting intensive training courses for researchers to teach them how to prepare legal research according to global standards and to encourage researchers to choose research topics of local and international importance to increase their chances of acceptance in reputable journals.
