Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Star Hamid Hamza Al-Janabi, the English Department at the College of Education at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a course titled “How to Write a Scientific Research Paper,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Huda Hadi Jassem, Assistant Lecturer Noura Ali Hussein, and Assistant Lecturer Sara Faisal Mazloom.
The course aimed to introduce scientific research and its nature in the academic field, explain plagiarism, and the methods used in paraphrasing to produce a distinguished research summary. It also presented the elements that make academic research purposeful and interesting for the reader.
The course concluded with several recommendations regarding the researcher’s style in academic writing, emphasizing clarity and writing in a manner that avoids subjectivity and is characterized by objectivity. The theoretical aspects were implemented practically, covering everything previously mentioned, starting from choosing the title and writing the plan, through selecting sources and documenting, and concluding with paraphrasing and organizing research paragraphs.
