The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University held a workshop titled “Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development as a Means to Protect the Environment from Pollution” in the postgraduate discussion hall, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Solaf Hamid Taimour and Dr. Lujain Ibrahim Hussein, and managed by Assistant Lecturer Israa Riyad Al-Ghura.
The workshop aimed to understand the nature of renewable energy, its sources, its importance, and its relationship with sustainable development and the environment. The workshop also recommended dispelling all the myths surrounding renewable energy and eliminating them, increasing community awareness of its benefits, and providing appropriate advice to developing countries to establish policies that would create a suitable environment for clean energy instead of traditional energy.
