The College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University, as part of the skills training program for graduate students in the research phase, held a scientific workshop titled (Towards Rigorous Legal Research), presented by Prof. Dr. Adnan Ajil Ubaid, and managed by Dr. Ali Hamza Jabir.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of rigorous legal research in various branches of law in terms of adhering to the rules of scientific research and paying attention to the formal and substantive aspects of the student’s study, which is necessitated by the requirements of quality in writing theses and dissertations.
The workshop concluded that rigorous legal research represents an integrated process that begins with choosing the title and ends with compiling the list of references and sources.
The workshop recommended the necessity of adhering to scientific integrity when writing theses and dissertations, the importance of considering previous studies, and starting from the point where previous researchers left off. The workshop also emphasized the need to pay attention to the quality of the sources and references used in the thesis or dissertation, as well as the importance of focusing on the aspects of formulating the conclusion of the thesis to ensure it is centered solely on the researcher’s topic.
