Training course at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University on combating intellectual extremism

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Dentistry held a training course entitled (Combating Intellectual Extremism), in which Dr. Baida Saleh and Dr. Nour Jalawi Jabbar lectured. The course aimed to identify the social, economic and political causes that lead to the extremism of individuals or groups, analyze the ideas and beliefs that promote extremism and how they spread among individuals and groups, and study the impact of traditional media and social media in spreading and promoting extremist ideas. The course recommended the need to develop curricula to include the values ​​of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and rejection of violence, and to create awareness programs directed at young people through the media and social media to inform them of the dangers of extremism and encourage cooperation between religious institutions of different religions to combat extremist thought.
