Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Prof. Dr. Kazim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Kazim Nower Al-Zubaidi, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Arts held an awareness seminar entitled (Violence, its dangers and ways to confront it), in which Dr. Alaa Al-Saadi and Dr. Laith Hamza Al-Tamimi lectured. The seminar aimed to work on addressing these causes and working to promote a culture of peace and peaceful coexistence among people and urging many national and international laws to prohibit violence and consider it a crime. It is necessary to work on enhancing awareness and education about the need to end violence and establish a safe and peaceful society for all. The seminar included an explanation of the terms violence, aggression, and terrorism. Other related terms Violence was defined as the use of force or the threat of force to cause harm or damage to others, whether in the body, mind, emotions or wealth. Violence is considered an illegitimate and socially unacceptable behavior as it involves disrespect for the rights of others and disrupts the social and psychological peace of society. The symposium recommended several ways to deal with violence, including distancing, personal protection, seeking help and support, seeking justice, education and awareness.
