The College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University, within the program of training graduate students’ skills in the research phase, held a scientific workshop entitled (Identifying the problem that must be researched), in which Prof. Dr. Fadhel Jaber Lafta and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hamad Allah Ahmed lectured, and the workshop was managed by Dr. Ali Hamza Jabr. The workshop aimed to identify the most important methods and techniques adopted in writing the research problem in university theses and dissertations in the field of law in its various branches, as it is the focus of writing the thesis and the real motive that prompted the researcher to choose its title. The workshop concluded that the research problem has the ability to clarify the positions identified by the researcher that require legislative treatments by the legislator, as the main challenge in the legal research problem is that the researcher must be clear in placing it in a specific and brief scope. The workshop recommended that researchers pay attention to formulating research problems in a way that adds quality to the research path that the researcher will embark on in the branches of the thesis, and that the problem has been addressed by the researcher in the various pages of his thesis
