Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Archaeology, Assistant Professor Dr. Rajwan Faisal Al-Mayali, the College of Archaeology held a scientific workshop entitled (Obtaining Information from Sources (Linguistic Dictionaries as a Model)), in which Prof. Dr. Walid Saadi Al-Mayali
The workshop addressed the importance of knowing the primary sources, especially linguistic dictionaries, for students in the field of archaeology. It touched on how researchers can benefit from these dictionaries, which contain rich and valuable information that contributes to expanding the horizons of scientific research. It was also emphasized that archaeology students must have sufficient understanding to use these dictionaries correctly and extract information related to their research topics.
The most important conclusions are the importance of students’ knowledge of important linguistic dictionaries. Students must also have full awareness of the importance of dictionaries and their uses in scientific research. It is also necessary to know how to use dictionaries. Students must master the appropriate methods to use these dictionaries effectively.
The workshop recommended organizing an expanded symposium aimed at informing students about important linguistic dictionaries and how to use them effectively, which enhances their research skills and provides them with the necessary tools to obtain information accurately Professionalism
