Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Hamid Musa, a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Al-Qadisiyah, has published a joint research paper titled “The Effect of Gas Pressure on the Dynamic Analysis of Single-Cylinder and Multi-Cylinder Engines.” The paper appeared in the *Journal of Achievements in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering*, which is indexed in the Scopus database (Q2 quartile).
The research was a collaborative effort involving a group of Iraqi and international scholars, including researchers from Portugal, the University of Missouri (USA), the University of Karbala, the University of Technology, the University of Baghdad, Al-Mustaqbal University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah.
The study addresses the limitations of previous models in analyzing the overall dynamics of reciprocating engines—limitations stemming from the tendency to study gas pressure, reaction forces, torque, and friction forces in isolation. The study aims to develop an integrated analytical model that combines these factors to evaluate their collective impact on engine performance and design.
