A faculty member from the College of Pharmacy at Al-Qadisiyah University has authored a scientific book on websites and combating fake news.

Published by Nipur Publishing House in 2026, the book, titled “Websites and Combating Fake News,” by Assistant Lecturer Wissam Karim Rashid, addresses one of the most prominent contemporary issues in light of rapid digital development: the phenomenon of fake news dissemination and its impact on societies. The book examines the modern digital environment, highlighting the role of social media in spreading misinformation, whether through distorting facts or rewriting news to alter its original content. It also explains the difficulties the public faces in distinguishing between true and false news, especially with the evolution of disinformation techniques and the emergence of what are known as “electronic armies” that aim to influence public opinion.
