The Department of Roads and Transportation Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a specialized training course entitled “Occupational Safety and Risk Management” in the Continuing Education Hall. The course was presented by Assistant Lecturer Rand Mohammed Jassim, Assistant Lecturer Karim Mohammed Jassim, and Ms. Elaf Dhiaa Abdul-Ridha.
The course aimed to promote a culture of safety in engineering work environments and highlight how to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them, thus ensuring the preservation of lives and property and providing a safe and sustainable work environment.
The course also addressed the vital link between theoretical aspects and practical applications in construction projects and transportation systems, most notably occupational safety and health concepts according to international standards, risk assessment methods, and job hazard analysis.
