Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Aqil Rahim Hassan Al-Barqawi, Dean of the College of Medicine, and based on the principle of cooperation between the colleges of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in cooperation with Hillah University College and the Deanship of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Qadisiyah University, the Deanship of the College of Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University, General Surgery Department, organized a workshop on the risks of cancer in conjunction with the month of October for awareness about cancer in Ibn Al-Baytar Conference Hall, in which Prof. Dr. Sharif Fadhel Al-Aluji, Prof. Dr. Nahed Raouf Al-Ammar, and Prof. Dr. Adel Shaker Mahmoud and M.M. Fadhel Kitab Dahsh
The workshop aimed to introduce the internationally known programs and discuss the possibility of applying them locally in a manner that suits the needs of Iraqi society
The workshop addressed the means of early detection of breast cancer in addition to discussing the latest programs followed for early detection, especially the technology of mammography with the help of self- and clinical examination. The workshop also recommended the necessity of updating the early detection programs for breast cancer and increasing women’s awareness of the necessity of women’s periodic review of early detection units
