As part of the University’s Sustainable Week Festival, the Sustainable Development Unit at the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a scientific seminar entitled “The Impact of Digital Justice on Sustainable Development.” The session was opened with a speech by the Dean’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Adnan Ajil Obaid. Presentations were given by Dr. Ali Hamza Jabr, Mr. Mohammed Jamil Abdul-Amir, and Ms. Rasel Majid Kadhim, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit. The session was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Laila Hamza Radhi.
The seminar aimed to:
1- Demonstrate the growing role of digital transformation in promoting the concepts of justice and achieving sustainable development.
2- Clarify the concept of digital justice as a tool to ensure equitable access to technological and informational services.
3- Highlight the importance of digital justice in bridging the digital divide and achieving equality among individuals.
4- Emphasize the role of digital transformation in improving public services such as health, education, and government services. The symposium concluded the following:
1. Sustainable development is a central concept that relies on developing legal systems to provide more efficient, faster, and fairer services.
2. Digital justice is a fundamental pillar for achieving integrated sustainable development by empowering individuals and communities.
3. Providing equal access to technology contributes to promoting equity and reducing social and economic disparities.
4. Digital transformation leads to improved quality of public services and enhanced efficiency of government institutions.
The symposium recommended the following:
1. The need to develop the legislative environment to align with the requirements of digital transformation.
2. Working to establish an integrated digital infrastructure that supports the implementation of digital justice.
3. Strengthening education and training programs to achieve digital empowerment.
4. Adopting digital transformation as a fundamental pillar for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and establishing
the principle of equality.
