Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Hayawi Wiwa Atiya Al-Jawdhari, the College of Agriculture held a scientific course entitled “Water Security and the National Water Management Strategy.” The course was presented by Dr. Muhammad Jassim Hussein, Dr. Karar Dhiab Abdul, and Dr. Wissam Nazim Karim.
The course aimed to enhance a deeper understanding of water security in Iraq, focusing on developing effective national water management strategies and achieving a balance between sustainable development and the needs of the population.
The course addressed the most important challenges facing Iraq in the field of water resource management, emphasizing national strategies and available options to ensure water security in light of climate change and increasing population growth. The role of water policies in promoting sustainability and protecting vital water resources was also reviewed.
