The Central ISO Energy Team at Al-Qadisiyah University held its first meeting at the University’s Quality Assurance and Performance Department, with the participation of team members, Professor Abbas Sabbar Dakhel, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, and Engineer Ghada Saad, representative of Diwaniyah Governorate for the ISO Energy program.
The meeting included a comprehensive presentation of the team’s future work plan, along with a discussion of the necessary implementation procedures for applying integrated management system standards, particularly the international standard for energy management (ISO 50001:2018) and the environmental standard (ISO 14001:2015). This aims to enhance energy efficiency and solidify the concepts of environmental sustainability within the university.
The meeting also addressed potential challenges and obstacles that the team might face during the implementation phases, and developed appropriate solutions to ensure the effective implementation of environmental standards, in line with the objectives of the National Initiative for Environmental Improvement and Emission Reduction.
The attendees emphasized the importance of teamwork and intensifying institutional efforts to achieve comprehensive quality standards, thereby contributing to improved environmental and energy performance at the university and strengthening its position in adopting global best practices in this
field.
