Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Sattar Hamid Hamza Al-Janabi, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Education, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a training course entitled “Women’s Rights and Protection from Violence.” The course was presented by Assistant Lecturers Fatima Saeed Hamza, Ashraf Karim Badi, and Reem Katea Atiya.
The course aimed to raise community awareness of women’s rights guaranteed by laws and legislation, to identify the forms of violence women may face and ways to reduce them, and to strengthen the role of educational institutions in supporting and protecting women. Key conclusions included that spreading legal and social awareness significantly contributes to reducing violence against women, that continuous awareness-raising within educational institutions is an effective means of protecting women and enhancing their status in society, and that concerted community and institutional efforts are necessary to reduce negative phenomena affecting women.
