Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Bashir Shaker Al-Awadi, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance Unit at the college, held a workshop entitled “Suicide Prevention and Promoting Mental Health Among University Students.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Ali Saad and Dr. [Name Missing]. Bassam Saheb
The workshop addressed several topics, including the importance of mental health during university studies, suicidal behavior from a scientific and preventative perspective, factors affecting students’ mental health, early warning indicators, the role of the college, professors, and students in prevention, and skills for promoting mental health and resilience.
Key recommendations included that preventing psychological crises is a collective responsibility, that human life is of paramount value, and the need to strengthen psychological awareness programs and activate the role of psychological counseling within the university.
