Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Ubaid, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science, in cooperation with the Guidance Center of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, held a scientific workshop entitled “The Educational and Ethical Role in Combating Intellectual Extremism.” The workshop was presented by Mr. Hassan Sabbar Alwan, and the coordinator was Mr. Taif Mazhar Muslim.
The workshop aimed to enhance educational and ethical awareness of the role of the family, school, and society in preventing intellectual extremism, and to build a system of ethical values based on tolerance, respect for others, and moderation. Key recommendations included strengthening the family’s role in monitoring children and discussing their ideas openly, monitoring and guiding students toward the safe and conscious use of social media, warning against the dangers of extremist and intellectually deviant content, and encouraging a culture of dialogue and respect for differing opinions within educational institutions.
