Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Jazaa Al-Khalidi, the Department of Roads and Transportation Engineering at the College of Engineering held a specialized workshop entitled “Digital Twin Applications in Managing and Improving Transportation Systems.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Shaimaa Haider Shaheed.
The workshop addressed the concept of digital twins as one of the most important technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It relies on creating a digital replica of real transportation facilities or networks, allowing for real-time monitoring and performance analysis. The workshop recommended the necessity of activating these modern technologies in strategic transportation sector projects in Iraq to keep pace with global technological developments, reduce operational costs, and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
