The College of Pharmacy at Al-Qadisiyah University Holds a Workshop on Fibromyalgia

Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidy, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy held a workshop entitled “Fibromyalgia: A Disease Affecting Women.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Niran Falih Hassan and Dr. Noor Abdul Khader Salal, and moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Awliya Jabbar Sahib. The workshop addressed the definition of fibromyalgia, its causes and symptoms, and the fact that women are more susceptible to it. It also covered methods of diagnosis and treatment. The workshop concluded with a number of recommendations, most notably the importance of exercise, maintaining a healthy sleep and diet, and regular medical follow-up.
