Dr. Alaa Hamza Harmas, Mr. Mohammed Jamil Wahab, and Mr. Karar Najah Abdul Jalil published their research paper titled “Prevalence of Sleep Apnea in Four Arab Countries (Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Oman): A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis” in the journal Behavioral Sleep Medicine. The study involved a systematic search of major scientific databases to identify studies published up to 2025. The pooled prevalence rate was calculated using a random-effects model, and variance was assessed. Subgroup analyses were conducted by country and diagnostic tool, and a regression meta-analysis examined time trends.
It is worth noting that the journal Behavioral Sleep Medicine is indexed in Scopus and is generally ranked in the second quartile (Q2).
