The College of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University Holds a Seminar on True Skin Enemies: Identifying External Parasites in Veterinary Medicine

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul-Amir Abdul-Fattlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College’s Zoonotic Diseases Research Unit held a seminar entitled “True Skin Enemies: Identifying External Parasites in Veterinary Medicine.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Osama Hadi Saleh. The seminar aimed to identify organisms that live on or within the surface layers of the human and animal body (skin, hair, feathers), feeding on blood, secretions, or skin cells. The seminar recommended the necessity of implementing periodic preventative programs (topical/oral), treating the surrounding environment, isolating infected animals, educating breeders and animal owners, and conducting follow-up and reassessment of treatment.
