Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidy, the College of Pharmacy held a scientific seminar entitled “Nutritional Supplements and Their Role in Slowing Down Aging.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Ali Hussein Jamil. The seminar addressed the role of nutritional supplements in influencing the biological aging process, focusing on telomeres as an important cellular indicator of aging. It was emphasized that aging is affected by cellular and lifestyle factors in addition to genetic factors. The seminar concluded by stressing that a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are the cornerstones of slowing down aging, emphasizing the necessity of relying on scientific evidence and consulting specialists before using nutritional supplements, and opening the door for further research in this field.
