Professor Dr. Hussein Obaid Sharad, a faculty member at the College of Arts at Al-Qadisiyah University, participated in the Sur International Conference entitled “The Historical and Civilizational Dimension of the City of Sur,” held in the Sultanate of Oman. He presented his research paper entitled “Cultural and Civilizational Interaction between Sur and Basra.” This participation was part of a distinguished international presence that contributed to highlighting the depth of historical ties and cultural and civilizational interactions between the Omani city of Sur and the Iraqi city of Basra, emphasizing the shared continuity of scientific, commercial, and cultural relations between the two countries throughout successive historical periods.
