Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Kadhim Nuwair Al-Zubaidi, the College of Fine Arts held a scientific seminar on the role of volunteer work in building communities and strengthening belonging. The seminar featured presentations by Dr. Alaa Al-Saadi, with the participation of Mr. Mushtaq Abdul-Hassan Rahman, Head of the Volunteer Work Committee at the Governorate Office, Mr. Muhammad Abu Al-Hail, Director of the International Relief Organization, and Ms. Ola Uday Adnan Hatem.
The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of volunteer work and its importance in community development, highlight its role in strengthening the spirit of belonging and active citizenship among youth, demonstrate the impact of volunteer initiatives on supporting social stability and building human values, and encourage students to engage in organized volunteer activities. Among the most important recommendations of the seminar was the promotion of a culture of volunteer work within educational institutions by integrating it into student activities and extracurricular programs, and encouraging students to participate in volunteer initiatives that serve the community. Locally, it meets its needs and promotes cooperation between the university, government institutions, and civil society organizations to organize joint volunteer campaigns.
