Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidy, the Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Pharmacy held an awareness lecture entitled “Drug Awareness: Its Health, Psychological, and Social Effects and Methods of Prevention.” The lecture was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Hamza Saheb, Lecturer Dr. Firas Abdul-Khaliq Al-Ghanimi, and Psychological Researcher Majid Kadhim Al-Shibli from the Psychiatric Center, Diwaniyah Health Department. The lecturers addressed the definition of addiction and its causes, explained the health, psychological, and social effects of drugs, and highlighted ways to prevent drug use and the role of educational institutions in reducing this phenomenon.
