Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Al-Hamzawi, Dean of the College of Science, the Department of Medical Physics at the College of Science organized a training course entitled “Introduction to the Fundamentals of Radiotherapy,” presented by Assistant Lecturer [Name Missing]. Karrar Mahdi Badi
The course aimed to provide a comprehensive explanation of the principles of radiotherapy, introducing the physical foundations upon which this type of treatment relies to target cancer cells and interact with vital tissues. It also aimed to clarify the different types of radiation beams used in treatment and their mechanisms of interaction with tissues.
The course recommended adherence to internationally approved protocols to ensure optimal treatment outcomes. It emphasized the importance of following occupational safety guidelines to protect patients and medical staff from unnecessary radiation exposure, and stressed the importance of a deep understanding of the fundamentals of radiotherapy to guarantee the provision of precise and safe treatment.
